This is definitely the coolest manicure I've done thus far. I used a nude gel base, then used a no-wipe top coat and cured it. The next step was buffing out an aurora chrome powder on my nails with one of those disposable eyeshadow application sticks. I applied a top coat afterwards and cured it. This one is definitely the manicure that has friends asking me to do their nails so I'll certainly take that as a compliment!
In other news, the lighting in my apartment is not the greatest for doing these manicures, so I plan on buying a ring light. I mention this in hopes of having better pictures or videos in the future. Even though my plant is a cutie, the brick building backdrop isn't what the people are here to see.

I fractured my foot earlier last month so I've just been using regular nail polish for the past few weeks. I recently purchased this beautiful dual tone nail polish from ILNP that I just had to try. I'm quite used to having oval nails but I decided if there is ever a time to try square, it's now. I have to say, I'm not the biggest fan of square on my own nails, but I think it looks lovely on others. As for this color, I absolutely love it!! I definitely plan on using it again in between my gel manicures.

I attempted a gel manicure on myself for the first time today! Since Barbie seems to be the rage, I was thinking something pink erring on the neutral side. I've seen some pictures of a marble effect on some nail inspo page that I think I would look really cool. Might have been a bit ambitious to do something like this on my first try.
After curing the pink jelly gel base, I applied a thin coat of blooming gel. Before curing, I drew some thin white lines on the blooming gel, which then spread to create the marble effect. When I felt that the white had spread enough to look like marble, I cured it under the lamp. I followed that up with a gold gel stripe and here's how it turned out:
